'Our Night'

July 9, 2013. 11:50pm.

Yes, Adrienne, that kind of our night. When Adrienne and I were in Europe last year, we had these things we called 'our nights'. They consisted of us going to a grocery store, buying a bottle of wine and some chocolate, and then sitting in our hotel room bed drinking and eating. Though we liked the idea of liking wine, neither of us actually did, plus we bought like 3 euro bottles, so our evaluation on whether the wine was good or not was based on how 'chuggable' it was. When we found a wine we were pleased with because it wasn't as bad as usual, we'd excitedly say, "this wine is totally chuggable!" or something of the sort.

I forgot to talk about this in my post yesterday about Paris. But I meant to, because Adrienne – yesterday, when I was wandering around Paris, when I shed a couple tears after I missed my train, had to wait and hour and a half for a bus, and tried to use a pay phone to call home but found it would cost 35 euros for the first minute, when I was feeling more lonely than ever...there was absolutely nothing I wanted more than to have one of our nights with you. Seriously. I felt one of the biggest nostalgias of my life just thinking about drinking shitty wine and eating delicious chocolate on together on a hotel bed. I love you and I miss you like crazy.
