Countdown: 3 Days

June 24, 2013

In less than 3 days…70 hours, to be precise…I will be in Paris.
I guess I should clarify my intent with this blog. Initially I just wanted to keep a journal so I had some record/memory of this summer. I wanted to do it electronically anyway because it’s so much more convenient and way easier to look back through or find something in particular. Then I was talking to Eugenah and she excitedly told me I should keep a blog. Honestly, sharing my writing scares the crap out of me. I’m pretty self-conscious about it. But I figure I’m already going to be keeping an electronic journal, a blog is a good way to organize it, and I can always make my posts private. So this blog is essentially my journal. I haven’t even decided who I’m going to give the link to yet, but if you end up being one of those people, don’t feel like I expect you to read all or any of my posts. It could very well be just a whole lot of useless blabbering. Good. Glad that’s out of the way.
So I’ve been spending the last 5 days…going shopping. Yeah I’ve done some other stuff too. But I bought so many clothes. I used to always talk about how I hate clothes shopping. Like, I really despised it. And then I realized I’m going to France, and people…know how to dress there. I don’t. So what do I do? RECRUIT JENNIE LUMMIS TO TAKE ME CLOTHES SHOPPING! Best. Decision. Ever. She is SO. GOOD. Like actually. I mean everyone knows Jennie Lummis has impeccable style. She is an art history major after all.. But she’s also a fabulous stylist. She picked out all kinds of cute clothes for me and in 4 hours revolutionized my fashion. So I went back several times over the next few days. And here’s my new wardrobe:

Yeah I know, like I said…I bought I lot of clothes! But hey, I’m ready for Paris! And it really does feel good to look nice. I think it’s about time I look a put together every now and then.
Well my suitcase is packed already, and I’ve done pretty much everything I need to get ready. I keep trying to think of what else I need to do to prepare. What crucial thing am I going to forget? Probably my passport. Ha.
